Former North Melbourne dual premiership player and Carlton best and fairest Corey McKernan took a tour of the Sports Hub with Kevin Cook today. Corey was highly impressed with the facility and he is confident many AFL clubs and up and coming players will take advantage of the new facility.
A $27 MILLION vision is rapidly becoming reality, placing the Coast at the cutting edge of sports science and rehabilitation. The Sports Hub Sunshine Coast is taking shape at the head of Lake Kawana, in Bokarina. Its gym and sports-related facilities are expected to open in late-May and the accommodation mid-year. Sports Hub co-founder Clayton Williams said the facility was now 85 per cent leased.
The Sports Hub has reached another exciting construction milestone; the third floor of Stage 1 and the concrete pour for the Stage 2 basement has been completed. Between the amazing weather we have been having and Vantage Building Group's concerned efforts, it is expected that the roof for the top floor of Stage 1 will be on before Christmas.
Milestone for The Sports Hub today with early work commencing on site. The Sports Hub is an inclusive, multi-purpose, regional sports and community hub of national significance for the residents of the Sunshine Coast and visiting sports people. Not only will The Sports Hub provide numerous direct benefits to sports excellence, it will also provide economic benefits and will have secondary effects to parts of the wider community such as an increase in sports tourism and sporting major events, attraction of elite sports people, teams and businesses to the region along with improved lifestyle and health.
